An answering service built for plumbers
AllCalls is an AI answering service for plumbers. It answers out-of-hours calls, qualifies emergencies like burst pipes, and takes messages.
A plumber's phone rings at the worst times: mid-job, on a roof, or at 11pm with a customer standing in an inch of water. AllCalls picks those calls up, so you don't have to choose between finishing the job in front of you and losing the next one.
The calls plumbers actually get
- A burst pipe or a flood. The caller is often stressed and needs to know someone's coming. The assistant takes their name, address, callback number and a description of what's happening, and flags it as urgent based on the rules you've set, so you see it the moment you're free.
- No hot water or heating. Common, rarely a genuine emergency, but the caller still wants to know when someone can come. It takes the details and lets the caller know someone will be in touch, without promising a time you haven't agreed to.
- A blocked drain or toilet. It asks enough to be useful, whether it's affecting the whole house or one fixture, so you're not calling back just to ask the same question again.
- A new customer wanting a quote. For extensions, bathroom fits or larger jobs, it takes down what they need and their contact details rather than trying to price the job itself.
- An existing customer chasing a job in progress. It takes the message and the reference to what the call's about, so you're not starting from scratch when you call back.
How urgency is handled
You define what counts as urgent for your business: a burst pipe might be, a slow drain probably isn't. Whatever you set, AllCalls follows it consistently, day or night, and lets you know the moment a call comes in that meets your criteria, by push notification and text.
If a caller mentions a gas leak while describing a boiler or heating issue, the assistant tells them to leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency number, 0800 111 999, straight away, and 999 if anyone's in danger. That rule applies on every account, for every trade, and it's not something you need to configure.
What it won't do
It won't quote a call-out fee or a job price it hasn't been told to use. It won't promise a specific arrival time unless you've set that up. And it won't pretend to be a person: every caller is told at the start that they're speaking to an AI assistant.

Frequently asked questions
Can it tell a real emergency from a routine call?
It works from urgency rules you set for your business, such as flagging a burst pipe or a flood as urgent and treating a dripping tap as routine. It escalates or notifies you accordingly, but the rules are yours to define.
Will it try to quote a price over the phone?
No. It never invents a price. If pricing isn't something you've given it a firm answer for, it tells the caller someone will call back with a quote.
Can it handle calls at 2am?
Yes, it answers any time your divert is active. You decide whether out-of-hours calls get treated differently, such as being marked urgent by default or only accepted for genuine emergencies.
