Frequently asked questions
Common questions about AllCalls, the AI receptionist for UK trades: how it works, call divert, pricing, urgent calls, data and cancelling.
Can't find your answer here? Trade-specific questions are covered on each trade page, and pricing detail is on Pricing. Otherwise, get in touch.
Useful links: read the call divert guide, or, if you answer your calls in an app rather than on a normal mobile or landline, the cloud phone system version. You can also see Pricing for the full plan breakdown, or call the demo line to hear it for yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really an AI, and will callers know?
Yes. AllCalls tells the caller at the start of every call that they're speaking to an AI assistant. If you've turned call recording on, it tells them that too, before the conversation carries on.
Do I need a new phone number?
No. You keep your existing business number. You set up a call divert so calls only come to us when you're busy, don't answer, are unreachable, or all the time if you'd rather. See our call divert guide for the exact steps on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, BT and Virgin Media.
What happens if a call is urgent?
You set the rules for what counts as urgent in your business. On top of your own rules, every account handles suspected gas leaks the same way: the caller is told to leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency number, 0800 111 999, and to dial 999 if anyone's in danger. Urgent calls are flagged to you by push notification and text message, not just left in the log.
What if a caller asks something that isn't in my FAQ?
The assistant only answers from the FAQ and business details you've given it. If it doesn't know something, it says it'll pass the question on and someone will call back, rather than guessing at a price, a date or a booking.
What happens if I go over my plan's allowance?
You choose in advance: pay a per-call rate for anything over your allowance, have calls forward straight to your own number once you're over, or switch to message-only mode. Calls are never silently dropped. You'll also get an alert at 80% and 100% of your allowance. See Pricing for the full breakdown.
Can I try it before it goes live?
Yes. Before AllCalls ever answers a real customer, you can preview the greeting and a few sample exchanges in your account, then call the demo line or send a test call to your own phone to hear it for real.
Are calls recorded, and how long is data kept?
Recording is optional and set per business. If it's on, callers are told at the start of the call. Recordings are kept for 90 days and transcripts for 12 months by default; you can change these settings or request deletion from your account. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
Can I change the greeting or the FAQ later?
Yes, at any time, from your account. Every change you publish is saved as a version, so you can roll back to an earlier setup if you need to.
Does it work with my CRM?
AllCalls can send call details to a CRM using a webhook. Direct Twenty CRM integration is used for our own pilot business; for other CRMs, check with us about what's supported.
How quickly does it answer?
Within a couple of rings, day or night, depending on the divert rule you've set.
Can I cancel, and what happens to my number?
You can cancel from your account at any time. If we set you up with a dedicated number, it's held for 30 days after cancellation before it's released, in case you change your mind.
